Morning Acting Manitou Family!

Welcome to Session 2! My name is Justin and I am the Producer here at camp this summer—if you followed our blog Session 1 I do hope you remember me well!

Believe it or not, we are already in the throes of our second session of the summer, with our first full day of camp commencing this morning.  Yesterday, our amazing and hardworking staff spent the morning preparing for the arrival of our new campers.  Our Intersession Campers—those lovely souls who choose to spend 6 weeks of their summer with us—spent the day at Funtown Splashtown, an amusement park nearby camp.  The kids had a blast going on roller coasters, playing midway games, and eating caramel corn (among other yummy treats).

Meanwhile, our second session campers began arriving in the middle of the afternoon.  We had vans of new and familiar faces roll in from Vermont, Boston, Princeton, and New York, as well as campers flying in from Canada, Spain, and beyond!  New campers moved into their bunks, met their counselors, and got the lay of the land here at Acting Manitou.  For our meal, we had a delicious spaghetti dinner and ice cream sandwiches for dessert (the pasta accompanied by the most scrumptious breadsticks).  After dinner, we all headed to the theater for our camper orientation.  We reviewed the daily schedule, camp rules, and introduced the staff to our campers. Afterwards, campers returned to their bunks to finish moving in and get to know their bunkmates.

That’s all for now! I’m so excited for our first full day of camp!

Enjoy your Tuesday!
