Good evening Acting Manitou family and friends! Kyra here, ready to report on another fantastic day at camp.
Yesterday was the first Lazy Sunday of Session 2. For our new readers out there, Lazy Sunday is a special day of the week where campers get to sleep in and roll up to breakfast between 8:30 and 9:15am to get an omelet cooked for them by a member of the staff! The delicious omelet bar was fully customizable, with ham, cheese, peppers, onions, and more. And of course we had the Lazy Sunday staple, toast, toast, toast!
The low key morning was followed by some line memorization time. Campers also had the opportunity to work with production staff behind the scenes on the shows, or get together in larger groups with their casts to run songs, dances, and scenes. After lunch, we were feeling relaxed and refreshed and ready to dive into our 4th rehearsal of the week.
The evening concluded with some downtime, followed by the evening activity…..JEOPARDY! The campers were divided by bunk and competed to answer trivia questions in categories ranging from facts about the state of Maine, questions about bunk playwrights, and “Know Thy Neighbor,” trivia about our staff members. It was a fantastic evening filled with brain teasers, laughter, and teamwork.
As the sun set on another beautiful Manitou evening, Benji and Chris led us in a power down to prepare us for the second big week of camp. Can’t wait to see what we have in store!
Talk to you soon!
