Greetings Acting Manitou families! Andrew here with a little recap of our 4th of July goings on here in Oakland, ME.
As the sun began to rise of lake eastwood, campers and counselors alike arose to a steamy dewy morn. It was the 4th of July and the anticipation of fireworks and friends was palpipul and ever present. Classes and rehearsals were had, and campers began the building blocks of everything from Shakespeare to Jane Austen, and everything in between. A smorgasbord of pizza was served at lunch and there was much rejoicing.
The day slowly turned to night and finally it was time for the evening activities to begin, and oh what an event it was. A massive scavenger hunt ensued, campers strewn all about the campgrounds finding everything from butterflies to water balloons, hidden in the brush and under the rocks. And then, the moment we had all been waiting for, the ice cream social. Chocolate and Strawberry, Vanilla and Mint Chocolate chip, the flavor combinations were limitless. Fireworks burst in the sky as if to create a crescendo to the momentous day. It was time for bed, friends hugged and said their goodbyes, another successful manitou day had finally come to an end.
Until next time,
