Hi friends! Such amazing days here at Acting Manitou. Our morning yesterday was filled with Elective Classes and Master Classes. Campers partook in Musical Theater Improv (banana songs were in abundance), Theater of Testimony delved into found text and ritual and Outdoor Living made recycling and composting signs for our dining hall to keep us all Green and Grateful!
The afternoon brought FIRST REHEARSALS! Campers were running through camp afterwards ecstatic with news from their first day! Read throughs of scripts, exploring performance spaces and choreography learning were the highlights according to many campers. It sounds like the five shows this session are destined to be thrilling!
After a busy couple of days with auditions and *Pop* (nee Surprise-Super-Prize-Surprise), last night's evening activity was Spa Night! Manicures, facials, mediations and story time were the order of the night. Campers got a chance to "chillax" with soothing music and aroma therapy. The end of the evening brought story time with Chris Murrah, who performed The Lorax with voices and multicolored lights to create a "fireside" feel in our Pav! (The rain earlier had sent the plans for outdoor star gazing to the "something to look forward to list.)
Off to day two of rehearsal as stage manager of Sew What! Looking forward to the next time I blog and seeing you all in a couple of weeks!
