IMG_9243Hello, Acting Manitou community! Yesterday was the first day of the usual camp schedule! The day started off with beautiful weather as campers attended master classes with directors and electives with teaching artists. This round of electives provides an exciting mix of old classics and brand new options – A Cappella, Folk Song, Improv Comedy, Playwriting, Power Up!, Lights, and 5, 6, 7, 8.

After a delicious lunch and refreshing downtime, acting campers headed to their rehearsals and tech campers to the shop! All five shows got an enormous amount done on just the first day, and actors have already begun memorizing lines and learning songs and dances.

A bit of rain rolled over camp towards the end of rehearsal, so we enjoyed some downtime in the bunks as we waited for the storm to pass. The rain luckily cooled everyone off a little, and it ended just in time for dinner! After dinner, we made our way to the theater to get comfy and watch Zootopia – then to bed to get ready for another incredible day tomorrow!
