It's Mac! Co-choreographer human (you may know me from my Murrah-inspired haircut)
I wanted to take a minute (or a few [depending on how quickly you read]) to talk about gratitude, and being grateful.
To be quite honest, I haven't spent a lot of time writing. This I am embarrassed of, to be sure, my journal is mocking me from my backpack this very moment.
So, in lieu of a journal entry, I will share with you a glimpse of how I am feeling.
Life is fun. Though everything since Camp has been a placeholder for camp...you guys get it.
HOWEVER! Since being at camp it is exceptionally easy to find joy in life...should you allow your self the secret.
Would you like to know this secret?
It's a pretty simple one:
Say 'thank you' as often as you can, and remember that no matter how hard your day is, or what is going on around you, everyone has their own personal battles to contend with.
Be courteous. Be kind. As much as you can, as fully as you can.
Make sure to take a minute out of each day to reflect on what you are thankful for, be it: your family, friends, A- on your calculus test, et cetera.
In a study I will not post, and possibly made up, findings demonstrate that expressing gratitutde makes people happier: both the individual expressing said gratitude, and their environment.
It's true! Google it! So sayeth I.
Positivity is the greatest tool you can equip yourself with. Ever. Always.
If you are faced with hardship, or rudeness, or unkindness...smile. A positive attitude is something people will look on with envy and respect simultaneously. A smile is something special.
In the form of a digital smile :) I will say in this moment what I am thankful for:
I am thankful for my friends
I am thankful for my family
I am thankful for my job, which allows me to pursue my passion unencumbered
I am for this place. This safe place, that lets me be.
I am thankful for you for reading this. I am thankful to Maine for being beautiful.
I am thankful for you all teaching me how to teaching, and learning with me.
Everyday is a journey. Please please please please please PLEASE!!!!!! Make the most of it.
Forever and always,
P.S. - a piece of advice for when it seems IMPOSSIBLE to feel grateful: candy. Eat candy. The sugar rush does wonders.
