Introducing a new Acting Manitou program for campers ages 10 - 13!
Dates: July 2 - 9, 2016
Ages: 10 - 13
New Stages offers young actors ages 10-13 a one-week overnight theater camp experience in Maine, with exhilarating classes in comedy improvisation, creating a character, set painting and musical theater song and dance. Campers stay overnight in cabins at the picturesque performing arts camp Acting Manitou, just outside of Waterville Maine; share in three tasty meals a day in Acting Manitou’s beautiful dining pavilion, receive 24-hour care and supervision from dedicated counselors, teaching artists and health care professionals and participate in fantastic theater and camp-based activities, creative games, acting classes and evening fun. Campers will enjoy beautiful Maine during afternoon pool-time and s’mores at night by the camp-fire.
At the end of the week, New Stages campers will perform a Cabaret of Scenes and Songs from great plays and musicals. New Stages will take place alongside the Acting Manitou performance camp’s first session and New Stages campers will get a taste of theater camp, without the intensity of the full Acting Manitou three-week experience. While New Stages and Acting Manitou are two separate camp experiences, New Stages campers will get to meet and greet with the older Acting Manitou campers at meal times. One day we hope our one-week New Stages campers will become three-week or even six-week lifetime Acting Manitoun-ians!
